Planning for Adult Special Needs Children
On March 9th, the Estate Planning Council of Northern New Jersey will be holding a panel discussion on planning for adult special needs children with a focus on advance planning by parents to identify and address financial issues (supplemental and special needs trusts), substituted decision making, care management, residential and vocational issues. There is a distinct gap in services for special needs children ages 21 to 65. A failure of parents to plan for the care for these children upon their own demise can lead to unnecessary institutionalization and an inability for their child to be as independent as possible. The session will run from 7:15-8:30pm.
