       Please join us for our first dinner meeting of the year, featuring Bessemer Trust’s Lynn Halpern. Lynn’s presentation will include discussion of a trustee’s fiduciary duties to beneficiaries, the process of making discretionary distributions to beneficiaries, and other fiduciary exercises of discretion, such as “special” investments, loans to and from a trust, merger or severance of trusts, and more. Ms. Halpern is Managing Director and Senior Fiduciary Counsel at Bessemer Trust where she oversees Bessemer's estate planners and fiduciary officers in the Northeast region, as well as the firm's estate administration group. She is also responsible for working with clients and their advisors to develop practical and efficient wealth transfer plans and for guiding the firm on fiduciary issues. This program has been submitted for approval by the Board on Continuing Legal Education of the Supreme Court of New Jersey for 1.2 hours of total CLE credit. Of these, 0 qualify as hours of credit for ethics/professionalism, and 0 qualify as hours of credit toward certification in civil trial law, criminal trial law, workers compensation law, municipal court law, and/or matrimonial law.
