Death and the Divorce Process
Statistics show 50% of marriages end in divorce. On occasion, death and divorce collide. During this session, our panel of experts will discuss estate planning and financial steps clients should consider prior to getting divorced and during divorce proceedings to ensure their testamentary intent is carried out if death occurs during divorce. They will also discuss what happens when someone dies after divorce when there are still outstanding obligations. Our distinguished panel has worked on several precedent setting cases that they will review during this session.
